The Australian Cinematographers Society (ACS) Awards continue to recognise and celebrate brilliant cinematographers this year, with SanDisk Professional Mentor Andy Taylor ACS securing multiple awards in one night.
On October 30, The Australian Cinematographers Society (ACS) held their annual State & Territory Awards for Cinematography. SanDisk Professional Mentor Andy Taylor ACS secured four awards at the NSW & ACT ACS Awards – an incredible outcome.
Notably, Andy took home the Ross Wood ACS Judges Award for 2021 Best Entry and a Gold Award for his work on the documentary, EXPOSED: The Ghost Train Fire.
EXPOSED: The Ghost Train Fire is a three-part investigation that delves into the Ghost Train at Sydney’s iconic Luna Park that had blazed in flames back in 1976.
Award-winning journalist Caro Meldrum-Hanna uncovers the ground-breaking truth and mystery of this deadly Ghost Train fire. You can watch the series on ABC Iview here.
Andy also won the Gold Award in the Commercials Local/Regional category for his work on “Nel Restaurant” for Destination NSW, as well as Silver in the John Bowring ACS TV Station Breaks and Promos category for Nine’s Today Show MIB promo.

About Andy Taylor ACS
Andy is a talented and experienced cinematographer based in Sydney. With over 35 years of excellence in the film industry, he achieved 30 ACS Awards to date and five prestigious Walkley Awards for Cinematography. ACS has also accredited him the highest honour in 2002.
Andy covers a wide range of genres from documentaries, network promotions, travel, fashion, corporate branding, and advertisements.
He is well known within the industry for filming magnificent commercial content for big brands such as McDonald’s, Mercedes Benz, Jaguar, Canon, Fujifilm, The NRL, and more.
Andy has experience working as Senior Cameraman at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) for 25 years based in Sydney, London, and Moscow.
He also worked for foreign broadcasters such as National Geographic, Dateline NBC, ITV, the BBC and CNN.
His job has him working with some of the most well respected journalists and presenters within Australia, to international celebrities such as Chris Hemsworth and Leonardo Di Caprio.
