Impact Australia will be back in September 2022 in Melbourne. The most-awaited mentorship program invites Australian screenwriters who wish to improve their work and expand their knowledge in the entertainment industry.
The eight-week program is led by Impact, an international entertainment organization, and Gentle Media Group. Learning Partner the University of Melbourne and other screen agencies located in Australia will support the program as well to ensure the quality of information shared with the participants.
The said program will take place at the Victorian College of Arts’ Southbank campus at University of Melbourne. Top screenwriters from different parts of the world will mentor the attendees to share world-class information, experiences, and tips.
Mentors will assist the attendees in developing the perfect idea for Pitch Day, an event where participants can share their works and ideas.
This year will be Impact Australia’s third year. The previous two years have been a success that resulted in 19 projects and 23 alumni writers whose careers improved after taking part in Impact Australia. The first program took place in 2020 and the second one happened in 2021.
The program even expands its service by supporting its successful members by providing a stipend so participants can relocate to Melbourne. The goal of Impact Australia is to bring out the best in its attendees. From a line-up of amazing mentors to meeting international decision-makers, Impact Australia has everything Australian script writers need to become the best versions of themselves.
Impact Australia is supported by Screen Territory, Screen Canberra, Screen Queensland, and Screen NSW.
Interested applicants can submit their forms today. Impact Australia has been accepting applications since June 21. To apply, simply go to this site.
The closing of applications will be on July 10, 2022. Creative teams can apply and are recommended to apply together. Applicants will be asked to provide a writing sample, a 30-second video, or a produced work.
The mentorship program is set to start on September 26, 2022, while Pitch Day will happen in January 2023.
